Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #111

I made a few more birthday cards made for a friend to take to work to sell on my behalf. This one uses a layout from Karen Giron’s blog The Sweetest Thing and her Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #111.
This is a great layout!

I wanted to keep my card fairly light and airy. I’m not sure I accomplished that, but here it is:

Sweet Pastels – Corrosive Challenge #110

Here is my card for today’s Corrosive Challenge #110 to use pastels. I was going to make an Easter card, but thought that since I rarely make baby cards, today would be the day! Besides, we are still a few weeks away from Easter, so I have lots of time, right?

I decided to keep my card fairly simple this week. I am entering this card in the MelJen’s Designs sketch challenge. Here is the sketch:

Accessories – Swiss Dots CB EF, PTI Vintage Button Collection, foam adhesive to pop onesie up

Corrosive Challenge #109 – Seeing Stars

I promise I’ve been stamping, but I just haven’t been posting. I’ve been doing a lot of CASE’ing. I did make a card for this week’s Corrosive Challenge, to incorporate stars in our design. Here is my card for the week:

I kept this card fairly simple, a la PTI. I started with a Kraft Card Stock base. I used a PTI stamp set as well for Father’s Day. I incorporated additional stars in my patterned paper and with Versa Mark (stamped stars). Not too many details needed here, I don’t think. Corrosive Challenge #106 – Going Green

This week at the Corrosive Challenge blog, we are featuring the digi images of Digis with Attitude. My card using an image from this company will be shown next week. For this week, our challenge is to Go Green. I decided to make 2 cards this week, one with a St. Paddy’s Day theme and the other a Father’s Day card that my 6’2″ son will give my husband.

Here they are:

For this card, I used a stamp that I picked up from Michael’s. It is made by Hampton Art. I inked up the shamrock on its own using Momento Tuxedo Black and stamped it 4 times to make a medallion-type image (masked it off so the leaves wouldn’t overlap). I coloured the leaves with copics (G20, G21, G24). I added a green self-adhesive rhinestone in the centre. I then inked up the sentiment and stamped it below the shamrocks. I used my nestie circle and lacey cirlce dies to cut and frame it. My paper is 110 lb. white (Strathmore), Basic Black (SU) and Basic Grey & We R Memory Keepers (Tiffany’s) patterned paper. I tied some black & white gingham ribbon around the paper before adhering my main image.

I used Karen Giron’s sketch from last week’s Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge for my layout. I started with a 110 lb white (Strathmore) card base. I used some scrap solid green CS and ran it through the Forest Branches CB EF. I adhered that to some Bassill dark brown paper. I also used some Basic Grey patterned paper layered with the same brown for my left-side panel. I stamped the tree from PTI (Father Knows Best) with Certainly Celery & Always Artichoke as well as Close to Cocoa and Early Espresso, since it’s a two-step stamping set. I also stamped the sentiment with Early Espresso and used circle nesties to cut and frame them. I added a strip of Certainly Celery under the sentiment and 3 buttons (PTI) to finish the card.

Corrosive Challenge #103 – Sketchy Time

Corrosive Challenge – Button it up!

Hi everyone. This week’s Corrosive Challenge is to use buttons on our creation. I love some of the sets from Paper Trey Ink., and I happened to have the Everyday Button Bits set, so, of course I had to use this for our challenge this week. I used a sketch from Card Patterns #100 as my starting point (I always need a sketch to work from). Here is the sketch:

I really like using buttons on my cards, but they are typically relegated to being the addition to my bow. Well, that was true today as well, but they were also part of my focal image. Here is the card I came up with:

One Layer – Little Red Wagon

I am really trying to make much simpler cards. I have a tendency to want to just keep adding and adding things. I have a “thing” for patterned paper and typically add some to my cards. It gets frustrating though, when you don’t have the “right” pattern or colour. Well, the Little Red Wagon challenge took care of all of that for me with the One Layer Wonder Challenge #64. I have to admit, I CASED this pretty much exactly from this blog. I changed the colour from Artichoke to Old Olive, didn’t add pearls but added a ribbon and changed the sentiment. Here it is:

I decided to make two cards. The second one used an Embossing Folder and the sentiment is definitely the focal point:

Peachy Keen Sketch Challenge

This is the first time I’ve participated in the Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge. I came across this challenge when I was going through the Unrestricted Challenges blog. I really like this sketch:

Corrosive Challenge #86 – Get rid of the White

Our challenge over at Corrosive Challenge Blog this week was to make a card that did not include white! Well, I’m a huge fan of white, so I had to really think about this one. I decided on a really simply layout and scheme for my card this week. My son needed a birthday card for a friend, so this is what I came up with:

Corrosive Challenge #84 – Turquoise, Pink & Red

I’m very happy to join Janet’s design team over at The Corrosive Challenge Blog and this week’s Challenge #84 to use Turquoise, Pink and Red. Wow! For my first challenge as a DT member, this was a tough one! Here is the card that I came up with:
