Blooming with Love

Card #2 from the alpha B sets. This card also measures 5 1/4 x 5 1/4. I’ve used Blooming with Love along with the sketch challenge from Mercy – MTSC12.
Mercy 12
The card base is Whisper White and I added a layer of S-U DSP. I added a vertical panel of Crushed Curry and a horizontal panel of Only Orange. I stamped the wheel-barrel and flowers with Timber Brown Staz-On using my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig (I LOVE that thing!). I watercoloured the barrel and tires and used markers to colour in the flowers. I added a panel of Mambo Melon behind the main image which I then popped up. I added a few golden-yellow adhesive rhinestones (that I picked up in a Dollar Store in Newfoundland). I used a rub-on sentiment that I’ve had hanging around in my stash of supplies forever. Thanks for taking a look today!

From A to Z…

I’ve come up with the bright idea that I would give ALL of my stamp sets some ink. I’ve printed off my favourite sketch challenges and I am going to work my way through as many of them as possible. I’m starting with my Stampin’ Up! sets since I have them alphabetized in my cupboard. I’m going to try to make a few cards per night. I will run out of supplies long before I run out of sketch challenges, I’m sure!!
Bear with me, I’m going to post 5 cards today (in addition to the Mojo Monday 104 card I already posted earlier)! I’m starting off with Mercy’s sketch challenges over at Lord Have Mercy!
My first one uses “A Flower For All Seasons” from S-U and is the MTSC09 sketch challenge:
Mercy 9
My card base is Barely Banana and I addeda vertical panel of Riding Hood Red and a larger vertical panel of patterned paper from Figgy Pudding. I watercoloured the poinsettia’s & cardinals with my aquapainter and ink from the lid of Riding Hood Red, Old Olive and Creamy Caramel. I punched them with the 1 1/4″ inch punch and layered them with Old Olive using the 1 3/8″ punch. I added some stickles to the poinsettia’s and crystal effects to the pots. I finished it off with a few scraps of Riding Hood Red ribbon tied in knots. Thanks for looking!

Another card for Dad

I made this card for my sister to give to Dad for his 75th birthday next week:
I used the Taylor Expressions Cupcake Challenge (TECC74) as my inspiration, although my image is a little bigger than the sketch shows.TECC74(sketch)
The card base is Baja Breeze and I layered with textured DSP from S-U (retired). I added a vertical layer of Close to Cocoa. The old geezer is from Golden Oldies (Stampin’ Up) & he was stamped in Jet Black Staz On onto watercolour paper. I sold my Baja Breeze ink pad so I improvised and used Sage Shadow and Bashful Blue to colour in his shirt using an aquapainter. His pants were watercoloured with Close to Cocoa. I used Blush Blossom for his skin and used Chocolate Chip for his sandles. I added a layer of Close to Cocoa and Baha Breeze behind the main image. I stamped the sentiment from the same set onto whisper white and used the large oval punch along with the label punch to finish it off. I’m sure Dad will get a kick out of his cards. Now I’ll have to make him another one to give him from his grandkids!

Poppy’s Birthday

I made a couple of cards to give to my dad for his birthday next week. This one is for the Prairie Paper & Ink (AMYRS72) Sketch Challenge from last week:
I used Kraft card stock as my base and added a panel of S-U DSP from the last catalogue. It has a great texture. I layered some Bravo Burgundy tied with Kraft taffeta ribbon on top of that. My golfer is from the And Many Mower set from Stampin’ Up. I stamped it in Timber Brown Staz On onto watercolour paper. I stamped the image again on the same DSP and paper pieced the shirt and hat. I used an aquapainter and ink from the lid of Blush Blossom for his skin as well as Creamy Caramel mixed with Close to Cocoa for his pants and Bravo Burgundy for his shoes. I used my nesties to cut out and layer he main image. The sentiment is from the same set. Hopefully Dad will like it! I’ll post the second card separately.

LSC230 – Baby, you can drive my car…

Here is my submission for today’s Splitcoast Limited Supply Challenge to use a car or other drive-able machine.
I stamped Riley in black Stazon on Watercolour paper and then used my aquapainter and ink from my stamp pad lid to colour him in (Clos to Cocoa, Creamy Caramel, Bravo Burgundy, Going Gray, Basic Gray, Bashful Blue, Crushed Curry). I used Kraft card stock as my base and layered it with some license plate paper I’ve had forever. I layered Riley on some other patterned paper laying around. I stamped the sentiment from Loads of Love and punched it using a 1″ circle punch and layered that with the Designer Label punch and a few pewter brads. I popped the sentiment up with a dimensional. Thanks for having a look.

Babies, Babies, Babies…

One of my coworkers is about to have a baby (girl) and another colleague just became a first time grandpapa. Here are the cards that I made to go along with a little gift I gave them today:
Here’s the inside of the dress:
I used Gina K. 10 lb. cardstock as my card base. I ran a panel of Pink Pirouette through a Texturz plate and rounded the corners. I made the dress using a template from Stampendous and enlarged it a little. I cut that out on white cardstock and pink gingham patterned paper. I used a scallop Quickutz and created a little bib for the dress from the same patterned paper. I added some sponging on the edge of the dress, a few retired S-U buttons and the flower from A Little Bird Told Me on the bottom of the dress, which I coloured and added glitter to. On the inside of the card, I used the Congratulations stamp from the retiring Hugs & Wishes set. On the inside of the dress, I used my S-U scallop punch and my 1/16th handheld punch. I stamped the sentiment from the new Teent Tiny Wishes set. I futzed with card a lot, but I’m happy with the way it turned out in the end.
Here’s the boy card:
I used Brocade Blue as my card base and added some very old S-U patterned paper. I used the Boatloads of Love set that is retiring at the end of the month. I watercoloured it and added some Liquid Applique (I love that stuff) to the puffs of smoke. I layered it with some Certainly Celery and Riding Hood Red. I added the sentiment (from a retired set) and punched it with circle punches. I finished it off with brads and ribbon.

Fifth Avenue Freshness

As usual, I combined a couple of challenges for my card. My grouping today is for the Color Throwdown #45 and Our Creative Corner Sketch Challenge.
Here’s my take on the two challenges:
I used Chocolate Chip as my card base. I layered Pink Passion on top of that and added my two panels of S-U DSP on top of that. My flower image is from the Fifth Avenue Floral set. I stamped it using Timber Brown StazOn onto Watercolour paper. I used the ink from the Pink Passion lid and layered colour until I was happy with it. I cut that out and popped it up on the Whisper White card stock, which I had stamped the image on initially. I added a little Green Galore on the stem and used the same colour brads on the side. I layered the main image with Chocolate Chip and Green Galore and tied a brown satin ribbon on the whole thing. Thanks for having a look!
