Babies, Babies, Babies…

One of my coworkers is about to have a baby (girl) and another colleague just became a first time grandpapa. Here are the cards that I made to go along with a little gift I gave them today:

Here’s the inside of the dress:

I used Gina K. 10 lb. cardstock as my card base. I ran a panel of Pink Pirouette through a Texturz plate and rounded the corners. I made the dress using a template from Stampendous and enlarged it a little. I cut that out on white cardstock and pink gingham patterned paper. I used a scallop Quickutz and created a little bib for the dress from the same patterned paper. I added some sponging on the edge of the dress, a few retired S-U buttons and the flower from A Little Bird Told Me on the bottom of the dress, which I coloured and added glitter to. On the inside of the card, I used the Congratulations stamp from the retiring Hugs & Wishes set. On the inside of the dress, I used my S-U scallop punch and my 1/16th handheld punch. I stamped the sentiment from the new Teent Tiny Wishes set. I futzed with card a lot, but I’m happy with the way it turned out in the end.
Here’s the boy card:

I used Brocade Blue as my card base and added some very old S-U patterned paper. I used the Boatloads of Love set that is retiring at the end of the month. I watercoloured it and added some Liquid Applique (I love that stuff) to the puffs of smoke. I layered it with some Certainly Celery and Riding Hood Red. I added the sentiment (from a retired set) and punched it with circle punches. I finished it off with brads and ribbon.

Fifth Avenue Freshness

As usual, I combined a couple of challenges for my card. My grouping today is for the Color Throwdown #45 and Our Creative Corner Sketch Challenge.

Here’s my take on the two challenges:

I used Chocolate Chip as my card base. I layered Pink Passion on top of that and added my two panels of S-U DSP on top of that. My flower image is from the Fifth Avenue Floral set. I stamped it using Timber Brown StazOn onto Watercolour paper. I used the ink from the Pink Passion lid and layered colour until I was happy with it. I cut that out and popped it up on the Whisper White card stock, which I had stamped the image on initially. I added a little Green Galore on the stem and used the same colour brads on the side. I layered the main image with Chocolate Chip and Green Galore and tied a brown satin ribbon on the whole thing. Thanks for having a look!

Mojo Monday Week 90

Hi everyone – it’s been awhile since I posted. I’ve been distracted with finding out more about my family in Newfoundland and planning another trip back, this time to surprise my aunt who will be celebrating her 80th birthday in the fall. My sister and I will be flying out in July for a week to attend her party. Anyway, here is my submission for the Mojo Monday Week 90 Challenge:

I used Gina K. 120 lb. luxury card stock for my base. I layered some S-U DSP with Chocolate Chip. I used a retired S-U set and stamped it in Kiwi Kiss and Ruby Red. I cut out the flower and popped it up. I used S-U punches for the sentiment panels. Thanks for having a look!
