Stamping 411 – Sketch Challenge #197

Hi all. Here is my submission for the Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge this week.

I have noticed that virtually all of the pictures I take are on an angle for some reason! A photographer, I am NOT! I actually was LOL when I took a look at them all! Oh well, if you cock you head a little, you’ll see if straight!

Anyway, here is the recipe:

Card Stock – 110 lb. cream
Patterned Paper – Webster’s Pages – petite papers “Seaside Retreat, Garden Gala & Nature’s Storybook” collection
Ink – Ranger Distress Ink (Antique Linen), Momento Tuxedo Black
Stamp – PTI (I think)
Accessories – Prima flowers, PTI buttons, Red seam binding (Hug Snug), Nesties, SU scallop border punch

Thanks for having a look today.

Corrosive Challenge #106 – Going Green

This week at the Corrosive Challenge blog, we are featuring the digi images of Digis with Attitude. My card using an image from this company will be shown next week. For this week, our challenge is to Go Green. I decided to make 2 cards this week, one with a St. Paddy’s Day theme and the other a Father’s Day card that my 6’2″ son will give my husband.

Here they are:

For this card, I used a stamp that I picked up from Michael’s. It is made by Hampton Art. I inked up the shamrock on its own using Momento Tuxedo Black and stamped it 4 times to make a medallion-type image (masked it off so the leaves wouldn’t overlap). I coloured the leaves with copics (G20, G21, G24). I added a green self-adhesive rhinestone in the centre. I then inked up the sentiment and stamped it below the shamrocks. I used my nestie circle and lacey cirlce dies to cut and frame it. My paper is 110 lb. white (Strathmore), Basic Black (SU) and Basic Grey & We R Memory Keepers (Tiffany’s) patterned paper. I tied some black & white gingham ribbon around the paper before adhering my main image.

and:

I used Karen Giron’s sketch from last week’s Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge for my layout. I started with a 110 lb white (Strathmore) card base. I used some scrap solid green CS and ran it through the Forest Branches CB EF. I adhered that to some Bassill dark brown paper. I also used some Basic Grey patterned paper layered with the same brown for my left-side panel. I stamped the tree from PTI (Father Knows Best) with Certainly Celery & Always Artichoke as well as Close to Cocoa and Early Espresso, since it’s a two-step stamping set. I also stamped the sentiment with Early Espresso and used circle nesties to cut and frame them. I added a strip of Certainly Celery under the sentiment and 3 buttons (PTI) to finish the card.

I hope you like them and I look forward to seeing what you create for this week’s challenge!

Viva la Verve February Week 1

I absolutely love participating in the Viva la Verve challenges. Each week, we are given a sketch and we are to create a card with it. I don’t own many Verve stamps (yet), but I love the ones I have and I use them over and over again. Here is the sketch we were given for this week:

I wanted to use something I’ve had for quite a long time but hadn’t used before – the square ProvoCraft die. I wasn’t sure how this would look, but thought I’d give it a shot. Here is what I came up with:

Here is what I used to put my card together:

Card Stock – 110 lb. white Strathmore, Regal Rose (SU), pale pink (from my scrap stash)
Patterned Paper – Gossamer
Stamp – Beautiful You (Verve)
Ink – Versafine Black Onyx
Accessories – ProvoCraft square die, round nestabilities, pink organza ribbon, hat pin, pearls and beads, dimensionals

Thanks for having a look today – I hope you like it!

Season’s Greetings

I haven’t been making many cards this week. I do plan to make a bunch today since I don’t have much else to do. I have a few gals coming over to do some stamping, woo hoo! It’s gonna be a fun day!

This card was made for today’s Corrosive Challenge Blog #89 to make a card with blue and black. I was going to make a boy’s birthday card, which I had started a few days ago, but I really need Christmas cards, so went through all of my patterned paper and found some that I really liked. Here is what I came up with:

I used an old Splitcoaststampers sketch for my layout. I find they really help me get a card together much more quickly. I have most of them printed off for quick reference and I’ll use them today, for sure. Here is how the card came together:

Card Stock – 110 lb. cream, Baja Breeze, Basic Black
Ink – Momento Tuxedo Black, Copic Markers (colorless blender, BG000, B000, W0, W1, YG63), Weathered Wood by Ranger (Tim Holtz)
Patterned Paper – Petite Papers (Christmas pack)
Stamps – Dove from “The Magic of Christmas” by Gina K. (Rupa Shevde), Sentiment from “Snow Swirled” by Stampin’ Up!
Accessories – Nestabilities, Cuttlebug Victorian die, blue self-adhesive rhinestones, dimensionals

That’s it for now. Hopefully I’ll have lots of other cards to share later!
