Another double challenge

This card was made for K Werner’s Color Inspiration #50 as well as the Card Patterns sketch #12. Here are the inspiration pieces:
I started with a Chocolate Chip card base. I layered a panel of Tempting Turquoise over that and a YoYo Yellow panel on top of that. I stamped the image from A Flower for All Seasons three times in Timber Brown StazOn and watercoloured it with yoyo yellow, chocolate chip, tempting turquoise, kiwi kiss and riding hood red. I punched it out with a circle punch and layered that on a riding hood red scallop circle. I popped those up. I used a sentiment from the Chit Chat rub-on package and cut it out with my Nesties. I threaded some chocolate chip ribbon around it and the card was done! Thanks for having a look!

Clean & Simple Christmas card

I was on a bit of a roll last night and got caught up on a few challenges I had missed during the week. This one is for the Clean & Simple Sketch #38 last week. I started with the patterned paper I’ve had on hand. I decided to use Taken with Teal as my base card. I stamped the tree from Season of Joy with Chocolate Chip and Taken with Teal on Very Vanilla. I layered it with Chocolate Chip and Taken with Teal. I used a rub-on from Chit Chat on the chocolate horizontal panel. I finished the card off with a snowflake charm – I cut off the little circle on the top because I couldn’t get ribbon through the little hole! Thanks for having a look.

A two-fer challenge!

This card is a little different or me on two levels – I don’t normally use these kinds of images and the colour challenge was a little tricky. I incorporated the Color Throwdown #39 challenge to use Real Red, Basic Black and Barely Banana with the Sketches by Tamara challenge. I’m not sure who made the swirl stamp I used, but it was part of an unmounted set. There are some really cute other swirly stamps. I didn’t find they stamped very well and I had to use my black marker to fill in the spots. I think the rest of the card is pretty self-explanatory. The sentiment comes from Heard from the Heart set. I’m going to try to get to a few more cards today. See ya later!

Prairie Paper and Ink Sketch

Here is my card for the Prairie Paper and Ink sketch challenge this week. I knew I wanted to use this tree from Lovely as a Tree. I decided to ink it up with my SU markers in Old Olive and Chocolate Chip. I stamped it on watercolour paper and used my aquapainter to move some colour around. I reinked it and stamped over the image again to give the tree a little more depth. I dragged the chocolate chip colour on the base of the tree to create some “ground”. I originlly used some chipboard in the top let for my embellishment, but I didn’t think it fit at all. I had some vellum leaves and thought that would work better, although I’m still a little unsure of them, but I couldn’t take them off once they were stuck down. I like the sketch a lot. I think my Vanilla background is missing something – I could have used the Sanded BG or something else, I guess. Anyway, thanks for having a look.

‘Tis the Season?

I made this card for Kerin Sylvester’s Sketch Challenge #10. I’m not sure why I made a Christmas card for this one, but I had the snowflakes in my head when I saw the two circles in the sketch image given. I suppose it never hurts to have some cards ready ahead of time! I used Riding Hood Red as my card base. I layered a Figgy Pudding patterned paper layer over that. I kept the rest of the card pretty simple. I used the Season of Joy stamp set and used Burgundy and Artichoke markers to ink up the images. I used a panel of Artichoke behind the main image as per the sketch. I punched outthe snowflakes with my SU punches and popped them up. Easy peasy! Thanks for looking.

SCS Challenges – I must be Dreaming

I combined Tuesday’s Color Challenge to use Pink Pirouette, Rose Red and Basic Gray, with yesterday’s Sketch Challenge. This came together pretty easily. I love the DSP from the Occasions Catalogue and chose two gray patterns. The card base is Pink Pirouette and I layered a panel of Whisper White over that. The gray DSP panels went on top of that. The D image stamp is from Stampers Anonymous. I used Rose Red and Basic Black markers to ink it up and stamped it on Whisper White. I layered Pink Pirouette and Rose Red behind it. I finished the card off with a few pink flowers from the Flower Fusion tin. I popped the main image up on dimensionals as well for a little depth. I hope to post a couple of cards tomorrow. See you then!
