MOJO #179 – Thanks so much

Great sketch this week for the Mojo Monday Challenge #179. My card is VERY 3-D. The rose in the centre sticks out about an inch! Looking at it face on, you don’t notice it so much but turn it to the side and holy-cow, it’s a big ‘un! Here is my submission for the day:

Mojo Monday 176

I can’t belive it’s Monday again! Where did the weekend go? Well, Monday means it’s another Mojo Monday sketch challenge. What a great sketch this is! I don’t think it can get much simpler than this. I’ll always go for the square card over the round. Just a little faster for me, I think. I don’t want to fuss with a round card and I’m more traditional, I suppose. Here is my card for the day:

Here are the details:

Card Stock – 80 lb. Neenah (cream), Poppy Parade (SU)
Patterned Paper – MME
Stamp Set – Whimsical Words (SU – 2010 SAB)
Ink – Chocolate Chip (SU)
Accessories – Prima Flowers, gold brads

That’s it. Thanks for having a look today.

Mojo Monday 175

Wow – I made two cards today and this is my third upload! I haven’t done that in ages! I really liked this week’s Mojo Monday 175 sketch.

I’m pleased with the way the following card turned out – it’s a good “pick-me-up” card:

Here are the goods:

Card Stock – 110 lb. white Strathmore (I love the weight of this for my card base), Baja Breeze (SU)
Patterned Paper – MME, Chatterbox “Chocolate Tapestry”
Stamp – Lizzie Anne Designs
Ink – Momento Rich Cocoa
Accessories – pearls, beads, hat pin, organza ribbon, baja breeze grosgrain ribbon, self-adhesive half-pearls, nestabilities, dimensionals

C’est tout! Thanks for having a look today!

Mojo Monday

It has been awhile since I played over at Mojo Monday. This week’s challenge #174 looked fairly straight-forward, just like I like ’em! Here is the sketch we got to play with this week:

I had an idea as soon as I had seen the sketch. On the weekend while my son was at hockey practice, I went to a mall I hadn’t been to before (that’s not much of a surprise for those who know that I hate shopping) and found a bid Dollarama. I hit the jack-pot there! They had tons of ribbon and to my surprise, a whole bunch of different lace packages (2 yards each) for $1.00. I picked up about 7 or 8 packages. Now, this was just after I had spent over $20 at a sewing store in the same mall. I was a little ticked off at myself for not going in the Dollarama first, but honestely, I didn’t see it until I came out of the sewing store and saw a couple with a few bags from there. If I had gone in there first, I would have saved myself the $20, but I did get some lovely black satin ribbon and a few other things there too that Dollarama didn’t have, so it wasn’t a total waste. Anyway, the point of all of this is that I also picked up the lovely ribbon that is tied on this card:

Here is what I used to put my card together:

Card Stock – 110 lb. cream, Almost Amethyst (SU retired)
Patterned Paper – Wisteria by Basic Grey
Ink – Versafine Black Onyx, Almost Amethyst
Stamps – Just Rite
Accessories – Cream Rosettes by SU, 1 3/4 and 1 7/8 circle punches by SU, Scalloped Circle Nestabilities, Ribbon, dimensionals

I think that is about it. Thanks for taking a look!

Mojo Monday #171

I haven’t posted in ages! Since I have the day off, I figured I’d try to get a card made and I liked the Mojo Monday challenge sketch #171.

I’ll go with a square card every time! I wanted to keep my card fairly clean, so decided to use a sentiment on the front panel instead of an image. I also didn’t feel like coloring anything this morning! Here is what I managed to put together:

Here is the recipe:

Card Stock – 110 lb. White (Strathmore), Basic Black, So Saffron (SU)
Stamp Set – Beautiful You (Verve)
Ink – Black Onyx (Versafine)
Accessories – Fleur De Lis Shapeabilities Pendant (Spellbinders), Fleur De Lis Impressabilities (Spellbinders), Yellow Rose (Prima Flowers), Dimensionals

Thanks for having a look!

Friends Forever

I had a great day! I took a bunch of cards that I had made over the past months into work today and sold all but 12 of them! I even received a few orders for cards to make over the next few weeks. Woohoo! I think I am going to keep a bunch of that money aside (I sold them for pretty cheap – $2 ea., 3 for $5 or 8 for $10) and save it for my next trip to Buffalo to get some new goodies. This way, I won’t feel like I’m blowing as much household money (not that I have a specific weekly budget).

I started my Mojo Monday Week 157 card last night, but it just wasn’t coming along the way I wanted it to, so I left a big mess in my craft room and figured I’d try again today. Here is the Mojo sketch:

and here is what I came up with, which I wanted to keep pretty clean and simple:

Here is my card recipe:

Card Stock – 110 lb. White, Pear Pizzazz (SU)
Patterned Paper – Green at Heart (Basic Grey)
Ink – Momento Tuxedo Black
Stamp Set – Spiral Bouquet (Paper Trey)
Accessories – MS punch, black ric-rac, peachy-pink self-adhesive half-pearls, Prima flower, peach organza ribbon, Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Fourteen

Thanks for having a look!

Mojo Monday

Here we are again, another Monday! Where is the time going? Already September too! Well, since it is Labor Day and a day off, I was able to complete today’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge #155 . I really liked today’s sketch. I was at the ScrapStampArtTour in Hamburg, NY last weekend and picked up some new patterned paper from Memory Box. What beautiful stuff! I did find it $0.50 cheaper per pack at a different booth AFTER I had already bought a couple of packages. I hate getting ripped off, but I also saw it for $0.50 more expensive than what I bought it for, so I guess it wasn’t a total rip. I picked up a few new stamps too – I’ll post the cards I made for that a little later. I used a new stamp for this card too – Simple Friendship from Stampin’ Up. I’ve always wanted this stamp set, so finally bit the bullet and got it. I think it is a very versatile set and there are loads and loads of beautiful cards on SCS that I plan on casing.

Here’s the recipe for this card:

CS – 110 lb. white, Rich Razzleberry, Almost Amethyst
Patterned Paper – Gossamer (Memory Box)
Stamp Set – Simple Friendship, Teeny Tiny Wishes (both SU)
Ink – Rich Razzleberry, Momento Tuxedo Black
Accessories – Nellie’s die frames, pearls, ribbon, tag, dimensionals

Thanks for having a look! Enjoy the day!
