Mercy’s Last Sketch

Wow – two cards for me today! This time, I blurfed over to Mercy’s Tuesday Sketch Challenge and was horrified to learn this is her last week posting sketch challenges! These are among my most favorite and I’ll be very sad to see them go. There are lots of other sketches out there in craftland, so I’m sure I’ll find more than a few to attempt down the road. For this card, I combined Mercy’s sketch with the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC98) to use pearls. I have to admit, I had to tweak this card a couple of times until I was happy with it.

I haven’t used many pearls in quite a while but I didn’t have many in my stash to play with. I rumbled through my drawer of embellishments and found a little strand of small pearls as well as a previously-made hat pin – woohoo! Here is what I came up with for these challenges:

Here is how the card came together:

Card Stock – 110 lb. White (Strathmore), Basic Black, Blushing Bride, Mellow Moss (SU)
Patterned Paper – Eastern Promise (Dovecraft)
Stamps – Cherry Blossoms (Flourishes), Occasional Quotes (SU)
Ink – Black (Versa Fine), Blushing Bride (SU)
Accessories – Floral Screen (Cuttlebug EF), Marianne Design Circular Die (LR0129), Blush Satin Ribbon (Michael’s),
Modern Garland border punch (Martha Stewart), Pretties Kit and small self-adhesive pearls

I hope you like it! Thanks for taking a look.

Mojo Monday #171

I haven’t posted in ages! Since I have the day off, I figured I’d try to get a card made and I liked the Mojo Monday challenge sketch #171.

I’ll go with a square card every time! I wanted to keep my card fairly clean, so decided to use a sentiment on the front panel instead of an image. I also didn’t feel like coloring anything this morning! Here is what I managed to put together:

Here is the recipe:

Card Stock – 110 lb. White (Strathmore), Basic Black, So Saffron (SU)
Stamp Set – Beautiful You (Verve)
Ink – Black Onyx (Versafine)
Accessories – Fleur De Lis Shapeabilities Pendant (Spellbinders), Fleur De Lis Impressabilities (Spellbinders), Yellow Rose (Prima Flowers), Dimensionals

Thanks for having a look!

JOY (I made another card)!

Yesterday, as I was recovering from the flu, I was able to be vertical (for the first time in two days) and knew I had to at least made a tiny dent in getting my Christmas cards done. I flipped through a bunch of websites until I found a sketch I thought I could manage and discovered this sketch from Crafty Sentiments Designs:

The name of the challenge is “Lots of Snowflakes and Sketch Challenge”. I am also submitting this card for the first ever challenge at One Crazy Stamper, to create a Christmas or Winter-themed card: Here is what I came up with:

Group Hug

I made this card for this week’s Corrosive Challenge #94, which is a simple sketch:

I was a bad girl and didn’t post my card to my blog for last week’s challenge, so I wanted to make sure I did it this week. I’m posting early since I couldn’t sleep.

Anyway, here is my card:

and here are the details for the 5 x 5 card:

Card Stock: 110 lb. white (Strathmore), 80 lb. solar white Neenah, Real Red (SU)
Patterned Paper: Jolly Happy Christmas by Dovecraft
Stamps: “Group Hug” by Stamping Bella (I just got this one this week) and “Teeny Tiny Wishes” by SU
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black, Copic Markers (VG91/93/97, R24/37/59, BG000/01/07,YR07, C1/3, G21/24, B000, Colorless Blender)
Accessories: die by Marianne design (LR0129), Green satin ribbon, Word Window punch (SU), dimensionals

I haven’t even started my own Christmas cards yet – well, I guess this will be the first one! I’m just getting over the flu, so I’ll have to try to tackle about 50 of them tomorrow. My target is to make at least 75 in order to cover off family, friends, neighbours and work colleagues. I truly hope that will be enough since I’m cutting it pretty close now! I’ll post a few more cards in the coming days. Thanks for having a look!
