Not much blah, blah, blah. I’m pooped. I made a bunch of cards yesterday and am just getting them uploaded now. Here is my submission for the Clean & Simple FTL 134 challenge:
Here are the very few ingredients:
Card Stock – White 110 lb. Strathmore, Basic Black
Patterned Paper – MME
Ink – Momento Tuxedo Black
Stamp – sentiment from Inkadinkadoo
Accessories – black & white prima flowers, black & white buttons from my stash
That’s all! Thanks for looking!
I was up until 2:00 a.m. this morning making my card for the Fall-to-Layout 124 challenge. Here is the sketch we had to work with:
Now, you wouldn’t think that making a card with this clean & simple sketch would take me 2 hours, but it did! I played with the frame around the sentiment, using three or four of them until I found the one I liked best, and had to stamp it a few times because I smudged it, then tried using my nesties a few times until I found the one I liked best too. I didn’t have the sketch in front of me when I was making the card, so the bottom scallop layer is a little lower than it should be, but hey, we’re given a little creative license, right? Anyway, by the end of it all, this is what I was able to muster up:
Here are the goods:
Card Stock – 110 lb. white Strathmore, Basic Black (SU), Ruby Red (retired SU)
Patterned paper – My Mind’s Eye
Stamps – Aviary and Whimsical Words (both SU), Nestie-friendly Fancy Tags frame (StampingScrapping)
Ink – Versafine Black Onyx
Accessories – black gingham ribbon, scallop border punch (SU), Nestabilities Labels 4 (#3)
That’s it! Thanks for having a look today!
Here’s wishing you all a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year! I’m setting a resolution to post a little more regularly than I have over the past year. I have a few more resolutions too, but they aren’t craft-related, like call my in-law’s and other relatives more often.
This week’s Corrosive Challenge (#97) is a colour challenge and we are to use purple and yellow. I thought I’d keep my card fairly simple this week:
I borrowed the layout from the Clean & Simple Stamping FTL121 blog but I forgot to link my card to their site – oops!
Here is the recipe for my card:
Card Stock – 110 lb. white (Strathmore), Lavender Lace (retired SU)
Patterned Paper – Wisteria (Basic Grey), Nana’s Nursery – Baby Boy (DCWV)
Ink – Momento Tuxedo Black
Stamp – sentiment from “For All You Do” (SU)
Accessories – Lavender Ribbon, Trellis Roses Lemon Creme (Prima), Eyelet Border Punch (SU), Renaissance Hearts (Spellbinders Pendant)
Thanks for having a look today!
I haven’t had a whole lot of mojo over the past few weeks, so haven’t posted much. Since I picked up a few new stamp sets yesterday, that helped! I had enough energy to make one more card today. I decided to take a look at the Clean & Simple challenge. I absolutely love these challenges! Since I have gravitated away from making really complicated cards, these sketches are perfect! Here is this week’s sketch:
I had coloured the poinsettia earlier in the day and was thinking about cutting it out, but hesitated in case I wanted to use a Spellbinder nestie. Well, I’m glad I didn’t use a nestie, because I ended up cutting it out since it fit perfectly with this sketch! Here is what I came up with – I really did try to keep it clean & simple (except I can see that the left side of my card needs more adhesive so it doesn’t lift up):
Here are the details”
Card Stock: 110 lb. white
Patterned Paper – My Mind’s Eye red, “unknown” light green
Stamps: SU sentiment, Poinsettia by Rosewood Canada for Frogs Wiskars Ink
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black, Various Copic Markers
Accessories: 7/8″ green satin ribbon, corner rouncer, dimensionals
That’s all for now – thanks for looking!
I love the challenge of making Clean & Simple cards. To this end, having the CAS Challenge (FTL 97)is awesome as a launching point for a layout! This is actually my second attempt at this challenge. I wanted to stamp the images directly onto the card stock to make it as much of a one-layer card as possible. I ended up using the Greenhouse Garden set from SU. I really love this set, but don’t use it much. This is my second card posted today using it, so I’m happy it is getting some ink! Here is my card recipe:
Card Stock – PTI White
Stamps – Greenhouse Garden (Stampin’ Up!)
Ink – Pale Plum (retired), Perfect Plum, Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, More Mustard, Versafine Black
Accessories/Tools – Stamp-a-ma-jig, Spellbinder frame, dimensionals, sponge applicator, corner rounder punch
Thanks for having a look today.
I made a few cards over the past couple of days but I haven’t had a chance to post them. I made this Clean and Simple Fall to Layout 84 card using Paper Trey Ink’s Big and Bold Wishes stamp set. I combined the Clean & Simple sketch with this week’s SCS’s CAS challenge , which called for us to focus on sentiments. I had seen a few cards on SCS with big and fluffy-looking paper flowers so I thought I’d try my hand at making something like that. I punched white and pink polka dot paper with Stampin’ Up!’s scallop punch 10 times and secured them with a small brad. Unfortunately, I took the picture at night, so it has some shadows on it. I used a large circle punch and cut some Regal Rose circles then halved them. I had to overlap them slightly and then I tied Regal Rose 5/8″ grosgrain ribbon around the card. I scrunched up the flower and adhered a small button from Gina K. in the centre. I layed the flower on a panel of White, Regal Rose and Basic Black CS. I stuck some black self-adhesive rhinestones to each corner for a little more bling, even though I know I’m supposed to keep the card Clean and Simple. I stamped the sentiment in Momento Tuxedo Black ink. It is doubtful this card will fit into an envelop, so I’ll have to hand-deliver this to someone. I hope you like it!
I love seeing all of Clean and Simple cards out there. I try to participate in the Clean and Simple Stamping challenges when I can. I really like this sketch I had originally made a sympathy card, but I didn’t really like it enough to post. I wanted to try again and make an all-white card and this is what I came up with Here is the recipe:
CS – Papertrey White
Embossing Plate – Stampin’ Up
Border Punch – Stampin’ Up
Stamp Sets – Stampin’ Up (Echoes of Kindness) and Papertrey (Mailbox Greetings)
Ribbon – Stampin’ Up (Regal Rose grosgrain)
Ink – Momento Tuxedo Black and Stampin’ Up markers (Pretty in Pink and Regal Rose)
Extras – Dimensionals
I can see myself making lots of cards with this layout. Thanks for looking!
I really love Clean and Simple stamping and this sketch really caught my eye I wasn’t quite sure whether to punch the circles out of the front flap or just adhere circles to it. I ended up punching them out, and I’m glad I did because I like the way the card turned out It was hard to photograph this card because I couldn’t see the inside circles when it was standing on it’s own, hence the need to use a stand with a clip. I used Sage Shadow as the card base and punched the circles using the 1″ punch. I added a layer of Whisper White CS to the inside. I used some patterned paper and punched out the fleur image with a 3/4″ punch and layered that with a 7/8″ Chocolate Chip circle. My sentiment comes from SU’s With All My Heart stamp set and it is stamped with Momento Rich Cocoa. I really love the new clear mount style SU has recently come up with. I like the fact the sets are quite a bit cheaper. I also invested in all of the clear blocks and they are excellent quality. That’s it – pretty Clean and Simple. Thanks for having a look.
Here is my submission for today’s Splitcoast Color Challenge. I also combined it with the Clean and Simple Sketch Challenge (FTL 51).
I didn’t realize when I was making the card that mine looks quite a bit like the sample on the website – we used the same stamp set (I looked at this challenge a coupe of days ago and only printed out the sketch). I haven’t used “For all you do” before today. I really like it and will probably use it a lot. My card base is Not Quite Navy and it is layered with Really Rust that I ran through the Big Shot with the new texturz plate. I used the Top Note die as per the sketch. I stamped the flowers in Pretty in Pink and added pink rhinestone brads. I used some paper flowers and leaves to tie in the colours. I stamped the sentiment in Not Quite Navy. Here’s the inside of my card:
Have a wonderful day everyone!
I was on a bit of a roll last night and got caught up on a few challenges I had missed during the week. This one is for the Clean & Simple Sketch #38 last week. I started with the patterned paper I’ve had on hand. I decided to use Taken with Teal as my base card. I stamped the tree from Season of Joy with Chocolate Chip and Taken with Teal on Very Vanilla. I layered it with Chocolate Chip and Taken with Teal. I used a rub-on from Chit Chat on the chocolate horizontal panel. I finished the card off with a snowflake charm – I cut off the little circle on the top because I couldn’t get ribbon through the little hole! Thanks for having a look.
